Julia Schwartz is an artist living and working in Santa Monica, CA.  Her paintings, deeply influenced by years of psychoanalytic study and practice, have been included in New American Paintings and 1000 Living Painters. Her work has been been exhibited widely, including solo shows at Bleicher Gallery La Brea and Tracy Park Gallery, and group shows at JAUS, Marine, and George Lawson Gallery in LA, Appels Gallery in Amsterdam, Marin Community Foundation in Northern CA and Parallel Art Space and ASC Projects in New York. 
As the Arts editor for Figure/Ground Communication, she interviews visual and other artists about their creative process.  She has been the focus of several interviews and reviews, including Studiocritical, Ahtcast, and Huffpost’s Haiku Review and Artweek LA.
